Elin Ruth Sigvardsson, known professionally as Elin Ruth, was born on November 23, 1981, in Mönsterås, Småland, Sweden, and is a Swedish pop musician and singer-songwriter who began her music career with the release of Saturday Light Naive in 2003, produced by Lars Winnerbäck. This debut album garnered critical acclaim and earned her a Swedish Grammy nomination for best new artist. Following her breakthrough, she released her second album, Smithereens, in 2005, which she produced herself. In 2007, she released her third album, A Fiction. In 2009, she founded her own record company, Divers Avenue Music, and released her fourth album, Cookatoo Friends. She also wrote and performed the opening theme for the Swedish crime drama series Irene Huss, Free to Fall (Apart). In 2017, she released the single Fel, her first single in Swedish.
