Moroccan rapper Taha Fahssi, better known by his stage name El Grande Toto, was born on August 3, 1996, in Casablanca. Drawn to a career in music, he made his debut in 2016 and quickly established himself as a rising star among young Moroccan rappers. With his track âPablo, â ElGrandeToto introduced a fresh and innovative take on trap music to the countryâs music scene, racking up several million streams. Riding the wave of this sudden fame, the rapper followed up the next year with his debut EP, Illicit (2018), which further refined his style. He continued his rise to prominence and racked up hits, particularly with the track âHors sérieâ (2020). That same year, he won the award for Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist at the African Entertainment Awards in the United States, then released âMikasaâ and âHalla halla, â two tracks from his debut album, *Caméléon*. The album, released in March 2021, lived up to his fansâ expectations with appearances by numerous guest artists, including Lefa, Farid Bang, and Damso. The album racked up millions of streams and made its way onto numerous charts, making ElGrandeToto the most-streamed artist in Morocco in 2021. Increasingly established in the Moroccan music scene, the rapper released âSalinaâ alongside numerous national figures such as Stormy, Tagne, and SmallX. His second album, 27, released in 2023, features collaborations with Morad, Hamza, Oxlade, Unknown T, and Rondodassoa. In 2024, ElGrandeToto featured on La Fouineâs mixtape Capitale du Crime Radio and released the first volume of the *Salgoat* diptych, featuring contributions from Roi Heenok, Baby Gang, Leto, Samara, Lacrim, and Kaaris, among others. The album peaked at No. 48 on the French SNEF chart. After a tour of France, ElGrandeToto returned to the studio to work on the second installment of *Salgoat*. Released in 2026 with guest appearances by Timar, Jolagreen23, Draganov, ZKR, Shaw, Gello 4031, Rounhaa, and Najm, it reached No. 83 in France.
