Biography

Eleven was an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1990 by Alain Johannes and Natasha Schneider, with Jack Irons on drums. Its early work included the song “Break the Spell” from the album Awake in a Dream (1991), which was featured in the film Freejack (1992). The band signed to Hollywood Records and released its self-titled album, Eleven, in 1993. After Irons left to tour with Pearl Jam, Matt Cameron took over drum duties for Thunk (1995). Greg Upchurch played drums on Avantgardedog (2000), which included songs like “Cool Cruel Baby” and “Verb”. Irons returned for the album Howling Book (2003), and the group contributed to the soundtrack of Catwoman (2004). Schneider passed away on July 2, 2008. The band disbanded in 2007, and its posthumous EP, This Little Finger, was released in 2011.
