Biography

Electro Hippies was an English thrashcore band formed in St Helens/Wigan, England, in 1985. Their early recordings included a split single with Generic titled Play Loud or Not at All. In 1987, they released their album, The Only Good Punk... Is a Dead One, and the EP The Peel Sessions for John Peel's radio show. The band's lineup changed when Jeffrey Walker left to join Carcass as bassist, Dom replaced Bruno on bass, and Andy took over vocal duties. Their music was influential in the development of grindcore. Notable releases include Live (1989) and The Peaceville Recordings (1989). The band disbanded in 1989.
