Biography

Elder Dayán Díaz, born on October 29, 1987, in Fundación, Colombia, is a celebrated vallenato singer and son of the legendary Diomedes Díaz. Raised in Bucaramanga, his musical journey began at age 13 when he started performing in local talent shows, eventually joining Miguel Avendaño’s tropical orchestra and releasing his first album, Ya Llegó, in 2006. His career gained momentum in 2009 with the album Presente, recorded with accordionist Luis Guillermo De La Hoz, featuring hits like "Laberinto." This partnership continued with El Conquistador (2014) and Tiempo De Victoria (2016), the latter achieving national success with "No Me Da La Gana." In 2018, Elder Dayán Díaz teamed up with Rolando Ochoa for Descontrol Total, producing regional hits like "La Vainita." Their next album, El Disco Que Me Gusta (2019), propelled him to new heights, with tracks like "Amantes" reaching number 1 nationally. In 2022, Elder Dayán Díaz joined Lucas Dangond, releasing Para Ustedes and becoming the fourth artist to fill the iconic Parque De La Leyenda Vallenata. Known for his emotive style and dedication to the vallenato tradition, Elder Dayán Díaz continues to uphold his family’s musical legacy, earning awards like the Premios Luna and Nuestra Tierra for hits such as La Persona De Mi Vida and Nací Solo. El Cantor, his second collaboration with Lucas Dangond, arrived in 2024 and featured the hit single "Lista Pal Desmadre."
