Biography
Eimear Mary Rose Quinn was born on 18â¯Decemberâ¯1972 in Dublin, Ireland, and began singing in a choir at age four before receiving formal vocal training with Jody Beggan at fifteen. She entered the Irish Eurovision selection in 1995, winning with "The Voice" and subsequently claimed victory at the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. Eimear Mary Rose Quinnâs debut solo single, "The Voice" (1996), established her presence on the European charts. She joined the choir Anúna in 1995, contributing as a soloist on Omnis and Deep Dead Blue (both 1996), and toured internationally with the ensemble. Eimear Mary Rose Quinnâs solo discography began with the 2001 album Winter Fire and Snow under Decca, followed by Through the Lens of a Tear (2001) and Gatherings (2006). In 2007 she released the carol collection O Holy Night, and in 2020 issued Ãriu, featuring new compositions recorded with the RTà Concert Orchestra; the track "In Paradisum" entered Classic FMâs Hall of Fame in 2021. Eimear Mary Rose Quinn has performed for state occasions, including a 2011 concert for Queen Elizabeth and a 2019 appearance at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam.
