Ebrahim Hamedi, known professionally as Ebi, was born on June 19, 1949, in Tehran, Iran. He began his career in Tehran and Karaj, gaining fame as part of various bands before transitioning to a solo career. Inspired by The Beatles, Ebi formed the beat band The Rebels with Shahram Shabpareh and Siavash Ghomayshi in the mid-1960s. Ebi released his first album Tapesh in 1974. Over five decades, he has released nearly 200 singles and over 30 albums, including collaborations with notable artists such as Dariush and Googoosh. Notable works include the joint album "Noon O Panir O Sabzi" (1990) with Dariush and the politically charged song "Hala" (1999). Ebi's music often reflects his political views. He moved to Los Angeles in 1977, just before the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
