DUSTZ was formed in Japan in 2005 by Ray Fujita, a FrancoâJapanese actor and frontman, alongside members Ray, GUS, and KenT, who had met at the FrancoâJapanese School in Tokyo. The group began performing in 2007 after recruiting drummer Naoki Kawano, marking the official birth of the band. Their early releases on the independent label Be On Key Records included the singles "Future" (2008) and "Lapis Lazuli" (2009), which helped establish a local following. In March 2009 DUSTZ signed with Epic Records of Sony Music Entertainment, and their first major single, "Break & Peace", served as the ending theme for the anime Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings, peaking at number 56 on the Oricon charts. The band continued to release singles such as "Criez" (2011) and "spiral" (2011), the latter becoming the opening theme for BloodâC. In 2014 they released "S#0" under Dolce Star Records, which was used as the ending theme for Zero: Black Blood. Throughout their career DUSTZ performed live in Osaka, Tokyo, and internationally, including a concert in Paris in June 2009.
