Biography
Druhá Tráva, a Czech bluegrass band, was formed in Czechoslovakia in 1991 by Robert KÅesÅ¥an and LuboÅ¡ Malina. The group's original lineup included dobro player and guitarist LuboÅ¡ Novotný, bassist JiÅà Meisner, and guitarist Pavel Malina. Druhá Tráva released their debut album, Robert KÅesÅ¥an & Druhá Tráva, in 1991, followed by Revival in 1992, which was sung entirely in English. The band's lineup underwent several changes over the years, with key members including Robert KÅesÅ¥an, LuboÅ¡ Malina, and LuboÅ¡ Novotný remaining consistent since their formation. Notable albums include Starodávný svÄt (1994), Czechmate (1999), and Marcipán z Toleda (2011). Druhá Tráva has collaborated with various international artists, including Ricky Skaggs and Peter Rowan, and has toured extensively. The band won the 1999 AndÄl Award in the Folk & Country category from the Czech Academy of Popular Music.
