Dominion III was an Austrian industrial rock band formed in 1998 by Alexander Opitz, also known as Tharen. Shortly after releasing his first album with another group, Dargaard, Opitz founded Dominion III as a means to express his emotions through intense electronic music. Elisabeth Toriser contributed vocals, and the band's debut album, The Hand And The Sword, was released in 2000 under Napalm Records. This album featured apocalyptic electronic music with dark and angry themes, reflecting Opitz's background in black metal. Dominion III's second album, Life Has Ended Here, was released on September 23, 2002. The album showcased a shift towards electro-influenced sounds and more prominent guitar work, thanks to the addition of Jörg Lanz from Amestigon. Despite considering a move to another label focused on electronic music, Dominion III maintained good relations with Napalm Records.
