DMBQ is a Japanese rock band formed in 1989 in Hokkaido. The group originally consisted of singer and guitarist Shinji Masuko, bassist Ryuuichi Watanabe and drummer Yuka Yoshimura. The ensemble began performing in Tokyo in 1990 and released its debut studio album, Dynamite Masters Blues Quartet, in 1995. After the addition of guitarist Toru Matsui in 1997, the band signed with the label PARCO/Columbia in 1999. In 2004, Yoshimura was replaced by drummer Mana Nishiura, who performed with the group until her death in a vehicle accident in 2005. Drummer Shinji Wada joined the ensemble in 2006. By 2014, Watanabe and Matsui had departed the band and Maki assumed bass duties. Their recording history included the albums EXP (1996), ANNULAR MUSIC (2001) and The Essential Sounds from the Far East (2005). In 2018, the group issued the studio album Keeenly.
