Biography
Major RD, born Rodrigo Freitas Fernandes Morais on December 15, 1996, in Rio de Janeiro, emerged from the battle rap scene in Campo Grande, where he honed his skills while working as a butcherâs assistant. Encouraged by his friend and fellow rapper Xamã, he left his job to pursue music full-time, becoming a founding member of the collective Brutang44. In 2021, he co-founded the label Rock Danger alongside Ycaro Torres and DJ Natan, through which he released his debut album Troféu, featuring tracks like "Rimo igual Pac," "MidÃo," and "Como é que tá?" His sharp lyricism and distinct flow continued to evolve with his 2023 album Ascensão do Cisne Negro, which included the single "No bankâs." That same year, he expanded his reach with collaborations such as "Negócios" with Japanese rapper Jin Dogg and "O Retorno de Jedi" alongside Xamã and Rock Danger. His presence in Poesia Acústica 14 further solidified his influence in Brazilian rap, marking him as one of the genreâs rising voices. 2025 saw the release of the single "Só Rock 3," featuring contributions from Borges and MC Cabelinho.
