Biography

Diomedes Maturan, born on August 16, 1940, in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Province, Philippines, was a singer and actor. He rose to fame by winning the popular singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan with his song "Rose Tattoo" in 1955. Maturan's career included notable releases such as the album Memorable Love Songs (1997) and the compilation 20 Best Diomedes Maturan (2002). His discography features a range of hits, including "Ako'y Nakikiusap" and "In Despair". He also appeared in the film Botika sa Baryo (1960). Maturan passed away on April 7, 2002, at the age of 61.
