Der Butterwegge (born August 10, 1973 in Duisburg) is a musician, music producer and politician from Germany. Born Carsten Butterwegge, the artist is a Die PARTEI politician. He has been performing under the stage name Der Butterwegge since 2015. Musically, his songs range between folk, punk, rock and singer-songwriter. The song "Deine Wellen" was released in 2015. His debut album Liebe - Lyrik - Alkohol followed in 2016. After Auf Asche (2018) and Super Optimiert (2020), the best-of album Die Scheibe followed in 2021. One year later, Der Butterwegge released another studio album, Butterbande. In 2024, the artist made it to number 21 in the German charts with the album Alle drehen durch.
