Biography
Denny Freeman was an American Texas blues and electric blues guitarist who was born in 1944. He began a professional career as the co-lead guitarist in the band the Cobras alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan and was a founding member of Southern Feeling in 1972. Freeman released his debut studio album, Blues Cruise (1986), followed by the recording Out of the Blue (1987). Throughout his career, he collaborated with various artists including Jimmie Vaughan, Lou Ann Barton, James Cotton, and Taj Mahal. He performed with the backing band for Bob Dylan between 2005 and 2009, recording the studio album Modern Times (2006). Freeman was inducted into the Austin Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2009. He died in 2021.
