Biography

Co-founder with Vangelis Papathanassiou of the short-lived Aphrodite's Child, most famous for the hit "Rain and Tears", Demis Roussos (1946-2015) abandoned the group's "symphonic" pop to embark on a solo career in international variety. In the 1970s and 1980s, he quickly achieved worldwide fame, accumulating tours and record sales thanks to tailor-made hits translated into every language and successful cover versions, driven by his rich, powerful and sensual voice. The singer of the hits "We Shall Dance", "Forever and Ever" and "Quand je t'aime " died on January 25, 2015 at the age of 68, following the release of his last album, Demis, in 2009.
