Biography
Roger Arnold "Deke" Leonard, born on December 18, 1944, in Llanelli, South Wales, was a Welsh guitarist and musician. He formed his first band, Lucifer and the Corncrackers, in 1962 while still at school. Leonard's early career saw him join various bands, including The Jets and The Blackjacks, before becoming a member of Man in November 1968. He left Man to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut album Iceberg in 1973 with the band Iceberg. Leonard rejoined Man in January 1974 and stayed until December 1976. He continued to release solo albums, including Before Your Very Eyes (1979) and Freedom and Chains (2005). Leonard passed away on January 31, 2017.
