David Civera Gracia, born on January 8, 1979, in Teruel, Aragón, Spain, is a Spanish singer who began his musical journey studying solfège, guitar, and piano. His early television appearances included winning a national karaoke TV show and participating in various programs. In 1996, Civera participated in the TV show Lluvia de estrellas, impersonating Enrique Iglesias with the song "Experiencia religiosa". Although he did not win, his unique style was noted.
Civera's breakthrough came in 2001 when he was chosen to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Dile que la quiero" (Tell Her That I Love Her). At the final in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 12, 2001, he finished in sixth position. Following this success, Civera released several albums including En cuerpo y alma in 2002, which sold over two hundred thousand copies and featured the summer hit "Qué la detengan". In 2003, he recorded La Chiqui Big Band in New Orleans. Civera also participated in ¡Mira quién baila! (Spanish version of Dancing with the Stars) in 2005, winning the competition and donating his prize to patients with Alzheimer's disease.
