Biography
David Penney, known professionally as Dave Pen, was born on April 15, 1977, in the United Kingdom. He is a musician and singer, one of the founding members of the group BirdPen. In 1999, Penney met Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths, founders of Archive, becoming a close friend, later joining the collective in 2004 to handle vocal duties following Craig Walker's departure. His first contribution with Archive was on their album Lights (2006), followed by notable works such as Controlling Crowds (2009) and With Us Until You're Dead (2012). Penney also collaborated with Robin Foster on the album Where Do We Go From Here? (2011) and We Are Bodies. In 2017, he participated in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, completing the 170 km course in 43 hours and 19 minutes. Penney's solo albums include Abran Wish & The Light Party (2021) and The Week Ending Forever (2022).
