Darina Márquez Uribe, known as Darina, and born on July 28, 1980, in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, is a singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, actress, and former soccer player. She began her career in both music and sports at a young age, becoming part of the Selección Estatal de Hidalgo de fútbol at 15 years old and founding the first women's team for Club Pachuca (Tuzas). Darina started her musical journey in the mid-1990s with her pop-rock duo/banda Sol y Luna, performing on radio stations and in nightclubs. She gained widespread recognition after winning Operación Triunfo México in 2002, which led to her debut album Darina in 2003, followed by Hoy Como Ayer (2008). Darina has collaborated with various artists and contributed to soundtracks for international media outlets like NBC and Televisa.
