Dantalian's Chariot was a British psychedelic rock band formed in England in 1967. The group featured keyboardist George Bruno "Zoot" Money, guitarist Andy Summers, bassist Pat Donaldson and drummer Colin Allen. Their breakthrough came with the release of their single "Madman Running Through the Fields" in September 1967. The band gained a strong live reputation for their early psychedelic light shows and distinctive stage attire. Dantalian's Chariot appeared in the low-budget movie Popdown and signed to Direction Records, a subsidiary of CBS Records. However, their debut LP was rejected by the label, leading to its release as Zoot Money's solo album Transition. The band disbanded in April 1968. Following disbandment, the album Chariot Rising, featuring ten tracks recorded by Dantalian's Chariot in 1967, was released in 1996.
