Biography

Dallas Leon Harms, born on July 18, 1935, in Jansen, Saskatchewan, was a Canadian country music singer. Raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Harms began his career with the release of singles such as "In the Loving Arms of My Marie" and "It's Crying Time for Me". His breakthrough came with the album Painter of Words in 1979, followed by Out of Harm's Way in 1982. Twenty of his singles charted on the RPM Country Tracks charts, including "Honky Tonkin' (All Night Long)", which reached Number 1. Harms was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989 and received the Hamilton Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award for 2016. He passed away in Hamilton on October 12, 2019.
