Biography
Dabs, a French rapper of Malian origin, was born on November 6, 1990 in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), a town that has seen the emergence of artists such as Kaaris and Maes. At the age of 11, he discovered rap with Kery James and found his calling in songwriting. He began by recording his first tracks, which he posted on YouTube, attracting attention with Ouloulou in 2016. This track marked a turning point in his career, and led to more productions under his Colored Music label. Dabs then signed with Elektra France, where he collaborated with artists such as Moha La Squale and 13 Block on Dinero (2018). In 2019, he joined Universal Music and unveiled Mainmise, his first album on this label, buoyed by Tes Rêves with Maes, a commercial success. He followed this up with the Mode S EP in 2020, inviting Da Uzi, Hornet La Frappe and Kaza, then with Ange Déchu in 2021, exploring more introspective themes. Blending melody and street storytelling, Dabs continues to evolve as a major player on the French rap scene.
