Biography
Da Zhangwei (Zhang Wei), born on 31 August 1983 in Beijing, is a Chinese singer, songwriter, lyricist, actor, and television host. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the rock band Hua'er (The Flowers), which he co-founded in 1998 as one of China's first teenage rock bands. Hua'er's debut album, Next to Happiness (1999), launched the group's career, followed by Strawberry Declaration (2001), I Am Your Romeo (2004), Hua Tian Xi Shi (2006), and Blooming Age (2007). After the band's breakup in 2009, Da Zhangwei pursued a solo career, releasing albums including Thunderbolt Flower (2008), Da Zhang Qi Gu (2011), and Big Swing Welcoming Spring (2012). He later became a popular television personality, appeared regularly on CCTV Spring Festival Galas, and staged his Great Time concert in Beijing in 2023.
