Crystal Shawanda, born July 26, 1983, in Wiikwemkoong First Nation, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada, is a singer known for her work in blues and country music. She began performing at six and recorded her first album in Nashville at thirteen. Shawanda's breakthrough came with her debut single "You Can Let Go" in January 2008, which climbed rapidly on the Canadian Country Singles Chart. Her debut album Dawn of a New Day was released in June 2008 and peaked at Number two on the Canadian Country Albums chart. Shawanda shifted to blues music with albums like The Whole World's Got the Blues (2014) and Church House Blues (2020), the latter earning her a Juno Award for Blues Album of the Year. In 2022, her album Midnight Blues debuted at Number eight on the American Billboard Blues chart.
