Core of Soul, formed in Osaka, Japan, comprised vocalist Fukiko Nakamura, guitarist and bassist Rui Song, and programmer Keisuke Iizuka; the group debuted with the single "Photosynthesis" on 16â¯Mayâ¯2001, followed by "Full Moon Prayer" later that year, establishing a blend of folk, rap, and rock influences. Their first album, Natural Beauty, released 27â¯Februaryâ¯2002, reached Number 35 on the national charts, while the 19â¯Februaryâ¯2003 release Over the Time "Time Is Over" climbed to Number 49 and the Octoberâ¯22â¯2003 album Rainbow peaked at Number 99; the 24â¯Marchâ¯2004 album 3 entered the charts at Number 134, and the 25â¯Januaryâ¯2006 album One Love, One Day, One Life also reached Number 134, reflecting a steady presence in the Japanese market. Subsequent singlesâincluding "Make Me A Woman" (3â¯Septemberâ¯2003, Number 85), "Purple Sky" (28â¯Januaryâ¯2004, Number 91), "Ageha" (26â¯Januaryâ¯2005, Number 90), and "Yumenori Riders" (3â¯Augustâ¯2005, Number 146)âdemonstrated the groupâs consistent output. Core of Soul completed an Asian tour in Osaka before disbanding on 24â¯Marchâ¯2006. Their final compilation, The Best, released 15â¯Marchâ¯2006, served as a post-split tribute to their career.
