Corbyn Matthew Besson, born on November 25, 1998, in Dallas, Texas, is an American singer-songwriter, better known as a member of the boy band Why Don't We. Growing up in a family with a military background, his early life was filled with moves across the country due to his father's Air Force career, eventually settling in Dallas. During his childhood, some of his earliest music influences include the Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson. At age 12, he received his first electric guitar and self-taught himself to play. Although initially not planning a music career, encouragement from online friends led him to share his vocal talents on social media at 14, laying the foundation for his future in music. His engagement on the broadcasting site YouNow further propelled his early career, allowing him to build a following and even monetize his passion. Corbyn Besson's musical journey took a significant turn when, encouraged by his father, he performed at a coffee shop in Williamsburg, Virginia. This experience sharpened his focus on music, leading to the creation of an official website and merchandise line. His first solo single, "The Only One," was released on December 17, 2014, followed by "Marathons" in 2015. His path crossed with future bandmates Jack Avery, Zach Herron, Jonah Marais, and Daniel Seavey through the Impact tour and social media interactions, marking the beginning of what would become the successful boy band Why Don't We. The group recorded two full-length albums—8 Letters (2018) and The Good Times and the Bad Ones (2021)—before going on indefinite hiatus due to legal issues with their former management. "Love Me Better," Corbyn Besson's first solo single since the group's disbandment, came out in 2024.
