Claudia Ulla Binder, born on March 14, 1959 in Germany, is an improvisational pianist and composer. Her musical journey began with a summer course at the Creative Music Studio in Woodstock under George Lewis in 1980. She studied musicology and psychology in Berlin, earning her degree in psychology in 1983. Binder has collaborated with numerous artists including John Butcher, Sara Maurer, Christian Weber, and Dieter Ulrich. Her discography featured albums such as The Great Musaurian Songbook (1998) and Solo Piano (2000) and collaborations like Ten Variations on an Unknown Theme (2005) with Dieter Ulrich and Under the Roof with John Butcher (2010).
