Clarissa Ocampo, born in the Philippines, is a Filipino-American mezzo-soprano. She began her musical journey at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music after initially planning to study pre-medicine. Her breakthrough came when she was accepted into Juilliard for graduate school, marking the start of her career in the United States. Ocampo released her debut album Cradle Songs in 2004, which won Best Lullaby Album and Best Classical Album at the 2004 Childrenâs Music Awards. Throughout her career, she has performed notable roles such as Berta in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Judith in Bartókâs Bluebeardâs Castle. She received multiple awards, including Best Female Classical Performer at the Aliw Awards 2013.
