Biography

Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes were a soul band from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2009. Fronted by lead vocalist Clairanne Browne, the group released their debut album Baby Caught the Bus in 2011, featuring the single "Love Letter". The album earned Album of the Year on ABC Radio National and reached number 66 on online charts and number 4 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts. In July 2012, "Love Letter" was featured in a Heineken commercial titled The Switch. The band toured extensively, including performances at SXSW in Austin, Texas and at venues including House of Blues and Mercury Lounge. They won first place in the AAA category of the International Songwriting Contest for "Love Letter" in May 2013. Their second EP Love Cliques was released on August 5, 2014. The group disbanded in 2015.
