Biography

Composer, pianist and ondes Martenot specialist Christine Ott was born in Strasbourg on August 10, 1963. A gold medallist at the Strasbourg Conservatoire and a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where her teacher was Jeanne Loriod, she has been teaching ondes Martenot since 1997, alongside her work as a musician. In addition to collaborating with Yann Tiersen for ten years, Dominique A, Radiohead, Syd Matters, Jean-Philippe Goude, Tindersticks, Noir Désir, Cascadeur and Chapelier Fou, Christine Ott is a member of Frédéric D. Oberland's group Foudre! (Oiseaux-Tempête) and produced the albums Solitude Nomade (2009), Only Silence Remains (2016), Chimères (2020), Time to Die (2021) and Eclats (Piano Works) (2023). She also composes for the screen, notably the soundtracks for the films Nanouk l'esquimeau (2013) and Tabu (2016), inspired by Murnau's film of the same name.
