Christine Lauterburg, born March 12, 1956, in Bern, Switzerland, is a Swiss singer. She began her career as an actress in the early 1980s, appearing in films like Eine vo dene (1981) and Macao oder die Rückseite des Meeres (1988). Lauterburg made her first recordings as a singer in 1987 for the latter film. By the end of the decade, she transitioned fully to music. Her debut album, Schynige Platte, was released in 1991 with Res Margot. In 1994, she collaborated on Echo der Zeit, which blended Swiss Volksmusik with contemporary dance and pop music, spending nineteen weeks in the Swiss Hitparade. Lauterburg's interpretation of "SâVreneli vom Guggisberg" from her 1996 album Paradiesvogel also charted for nine weeks. She has performed internationally and collaborated with various artists including Corin Curschellas, Walter Lietha, and Roland Zoss.
