Christian Forshaw is an English saxophonist and composer. He graduated with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 1995 and began his career working with prominent ensembles such as the London Sinfonietta and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Forshaw has also held the position of Professor of Saxophone at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama since 2002. His debut album Sanctuary, released in 2004, reached Number 1 on both the Amazon.co.uk Classical Chart and New Zealandâs Concert FM charts, and was featured in Classic FM's "Hall of Fame" in 2005. In 2006, he established his own label, IntegraRecordsUK, to maintain creative independence. Notable collaborations include performances with Tenebrae, Voces 8, Brian Eno, Moondog, Damon Albarn, and Hugh Jackman. His subsequent albums include Renouncement (2007), Midwinter (2008), and Songs of Solace (2012).
