Christian Durstewitz was born on 11 May 1989 in Fritzlar, Germany, and is a singer and songwriter. Growing up as the son of tenor Claus Durstewitz, he began writing music after completing his Abitur and performed with his father in 2006, followed by two hardârock concerts in 2007. Durstewitz entered the 2010 German preâselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Unser Star für Oslo, where he advanced to the final twenty and finished third behind Jennifer Braun and Lena MeyerâLandrut, gaining national attention through his original compositions. In October 2010 he released the single "Stalker" and, two weeks later, his debut studio album Let Me Sing, produced at Valicon Studio in Berlin; all tracks were written by Durstewitz. The title track became a single in January 2011 and served as the theme for Vorstadtkrokodileâ¯3, in which he also appeared. He toured Germany in February 2011 and performed at the Lambertusmarkt in Erkelenz and the Jazz Festival Idstein in June 2011. In 2013 he competed in the Austrian show Die groÃe Chance but was eliminated in the second recall. In 2015 he recorded the independent CD Welt Zoo with friends, which he sold exclusively at concerts.
