Biography

Charles Nicholas Hodges, known as Chas Hodges, was born on December 28, 1943 in Edmonton, England. Inspired by Little Richard and Lonnie Donegan, he started playing guitar and later piano, becoming a professional musician at 16. Hodges formed the duo Chas & Dave with Dave Peacock in 1972. They released their debut album One Fing 'N' Anuvver in 1975 and then signed with EMI, releasing the album Rockney in 1977. Their breakthrough came with the single "Rabbit" in 1980, which reached number 10. The duo achieved further success with "Ain't No Pleasing You" in 1982. Hodges was also known for his association with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, releasing several related singles. Chas & Dave continued performing until Hodges' death on September 22, 2018.
