Biography
Multi-faceted Swedish pop star Cazzi Opeia was born Moa Anna Maria Carlebecker on November 10, 1988. As a teen she developed her songwriting and DJ skills, finally drawing attention when DJ Tiësto put a remix of her first single, 2010âs âI Belong to Youâ, on one of his albums. She released a series of singles in the first half of the 2010s including 2011âs Oxygenâ, 2012âs âWith Youâ, and 2014âs âEndless Flameâ. She had a notable hit in 2017 collaborating with Jin X Jin on the pop confection âBatman & Robinâ. That same year she issued âWild Onesâ, a solo single that showcased her versatility as it was a more serious, somber record that her work with Jin X Jin. The single was promoted with a stunt where the Swedish space program broadcast the song into the sky towards the constellation Cassiopeia, which was the inspiration for her stage name. At this time, her songs started appearing on albums by numerous other K-pop groups including Twice, Red Velvet, NCT Dream, and BTS. She put out another solo single in 2018 with âRichâ.
