Biography

Catherine Ringer was born in Suresnes (Hauts-de-Seine) on October 18, 1957. A veritable diva of French rock, the singer with her expansive timbre instilled her touch of madness in the Rita Mitsouko duo, in the company of guitarist Fred Chichin. A year after the death of her partner (in November 2007), she reworked the repertoire in his name for a live tribute album(Chante Les Rita Mitsouko and More at La Cigale, 2008). In 2011, the unclassifiable artist rediscovers her baroque verve on her first studio album Ring N'Roll. She then teamed up with two musicians from the tango-electro group Gotan Project for Plaza Francia's only album, A New Tango Songbook (2014). In 2017, she released her second solo album Chroniques et Fantaisies, from which the track "Senior" is taken.
