Jornt Elzinga, born on March 3, 1989 in the Netherlands, is a Dutch vaporwave musician known professionally as Cat System Corp.. He began his career in the 2000s with drone and noise music productions, then transitioned to his vaporwave career in 2013. In 2014 his breakthrough came with the album Hiraeth; subsequent releases such as Palm Mall (2014) and News at 11 (2016) were known for popularizing the mallsoft genre. Collaborations with artists like Telepath and Donovan Hikaru expanded his catalog. In 2019, he founded Hiraeth Records marked a shift toward original, nonâsampled work. Palm Mall Mars (2018) and Building a Better World (2019) continued his thematic focus on ambient shoppingâcenter soundscapes.
