The casalQuartett, a Swiss string quartet, was founded in 1996 by students of the Carmina and Alban-Berg Quartets. Their debut album Liebe - Leben - Tod, featuring works by Franz Schubert and LeoÅ¡ JanáÄek, was released in 1998. The group gained recognition for their versatility across classical music, jazz, and world music genres, as showcased in albums like 4 for Tango (2000). They collaborated with notable musicians such as Martha Argerich and Fazil Say, and performed on historical instruments by Jakob Stainer from the 17th century. The quartet received numerous awards, including the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in 1998, Quartettwettbewerb Trondheim in 1999, and multiple Supersonic Awards from Pizzicato between 2006 and 2017. They also earned prestigious recognitions such as the Echo Klassik in 2010 and 2015, Diapason dâor in 2014, and a Grammy nomination in 2014.
