Real name Anne-Lyse Copataux, Swiss singer Carol Rich was born in Villorsonnens, Canton Fribourg, on February 25, 1962. After studying opera at the Fribourg Conservatory, she unsuccessfully entered the 29th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Tokyo Joe". In 1987, after the previous years' singles "L'Amour ça revient toujours" and "Si j'étais toi ", she tried her luck again, this time winning the right to take part in the final of the 32nd edition, held in Brussels on May 9, 1987. On that day, Carol Rich finished in 17th place with the song "Moitié moitié". 1990 saw the release of her first album, Longs les Jours, featuring new compositions arranged by Roland Romanelli, also on keyboards. The following year, the singer entered the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time, but was unsuccessful. She interrupted her career and moved to Paris, before returning to song in 2000 with the title "Veux-tu vivre avec moi", followed by others. In 2012, under the name Carol Rich & Friends, she released the album Country Pop, featuring adaptations of American hits performed solo or as a duet with Erick Bamy (Johnny Hallyday's former backing singer) and Fabienne Thibeault. After several months of illness, the artist retired from the stage in 2014.
