Carlos Cano was a Spanish singer-songwriter who significantly revived traditional Andalusian genres like copla and trovo. He began playing guitar in 1959 and gained prominence through the PoesÃa 70 movement. His recording debut, A duras penas (1976), featured the influential song "Verde, blanca, verde." Throughout a prolific career, he released key albums including A la luz de los cantares (1977), El gallo de Morón (1981), Cuaderno de coplas (1985), and El color de la vida (1996). He recorded Quédate con la copla (1987) after signing with CBS and collaborated with legends such as Enrique Morente. Following his death in 2000, his work was further commemorated with the posthumous release Una vida de copla (2006).
