Biography
Carla Olson, born on Julyâ¯3, 1952, in Austin, Texas, is an American, Los Angeles-based songwriter, performer, and record producer. She began her professional path in 1978 with the Textones, whose debut album Midnight Mission entered the Billboard 200 and produced the singles "Standing in the Line" and "Midnight Mission", both receiving MTV airplay. She released the solo album So Rebellious a Lover in 1987. Her collaborations include work with Mick Taylor, Gene Clark, and Ry Cooder, and she has produced recordings for artists such as Bob Dylan and Don Henley. In late 2021, BMG Records/Renew released a vinyl album, Americana Railroad, was released on CD in 2022. The album featured nine tracks produced by Olson, such as "Here Comes That Train Again" and "I Remember the Railroad".
