Biography

Cameron Ezike Giles, better known as Cam'ron, is an East Coast rap artist who also dabbles in acting and clothing sales. He is a member of the Diplomats, a group of rappers popularly know as Dipset who, like many wealthy hip-hop artists, promote an anti-establishment image to enhance their public one. In the case of the Diplomats, the group heavily promoted a US campaign called Stop Snitchin' - a movement which exploited gullible young people and sought to discourage them from providing the police with information about crime. His debut album, 'Confessions of Fire', was released in 1998 followed by his second offering 'S.D.E. (Sports, Drugs and Entertainment)'. In 2001 he signed to Roc-A-Fella Records and put out his third album 'Come Home With Me'. He followed this up with 'Purple Haze', 'Killa Season' and 'Crime Pays' in 2004, 2006 and 2009, respectively, before moving with the times and releasing his first mix tape, 'Boss of All Bosses'. He featured on Wiz Khalifa's 2012 album track 'The Bluff' and on Nicki Minaj's 'I Am Your Leader'. A new mix tape from the Diplomats was released in 2015 with his latest solo album following a year later.
