Biography
Cécile Hugonnard-Roche is a French pianist and assistant piano teacher. She completed her musical studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris under Vlado Perlemuter, Jean Hubeau, and Dominique Merlet. She earned four first prizes in piano, chamber music, harmony, and accompaniment at the institution. Hugonnard-Roche received a postgraduate scholarship to study with foreign teachers for two years, expanding her repertoire. In 1976, she won second prize (first named) at the Concours International de Genève, along with the Prix Schumann and the Prix de la Fondation Alex de Vries in Antwerp. Her career includes teaching positions at the Ãcole normale de musique de Paris and the Saint-Maur-des-Fossés conservatoire. Her performances include appearances as a soloist and chamber musician at various festivals across Europe, Brazil, Southeast Asia, and Japan. Her discography includes three CD recordings for the Quantum label, consisting of a release dedicated to Schumann, a second to Prokofiev, and a third featuring French music for two pianos with André Cauvin. She also recorded the Fantaisie by Schumann and the Sonate pour piano en la majeur by Mozart for the Bayard Musique collection Les Grands chefs-d'Åuvre.
