Biography

Cabballero was a German electronic and eurodance project that formed in the mid-1990s. The ensemble was founded by the musicians Ronald Bähr and Ricco Raggazzi and are famous for their techno-dance cover versions of tracks by the band Ultravox. They achieved professional recognition in 1994 with their debut single “Gimme Gimme More and More”, a cover of a track by ABBA. The group’s vocals were provided by the singers Kristina Safrany and Sara Pola. Cabballero achieved international success with the tracks “Hymn” (1994) and “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes” (1995), the latter of which reached number 12 on the Austrian charts. Their discography includes the studio recording The Elements (1995), which features euro-hip-hop elements. They also released cover versions of the Camouflage track “Love Is a Shield” (1995), which reached number 14 in Austria. Other releases include the singles “Nanaya” (1996) and “Love Is the Message” (1996), both of which reached the Austrian charts.
