Biography

Busaiku, a Japanese boy band formed from four members of Kis-My-Ft2, debuted on December 13, 2013. Their debut single "A gift from heaven" was produced by Masahiro Nakai, a prominent figure from SMAP and a celebrated entertainer. The band's name, Busaiku, meaning "ugly" or "uncool," was inspired by the Kis-My-Ft2 namesake show "Kis-My Busaiku," reflecting a unique approach to idol group naming by Johnny & Associates. This unconventional name was part of their charm, aligning with their comical and light-hearted musical style, often performing in plain suits like businessmen. Their song "Signpost" (2017) achieved significant success, reaching number one on the weekly Oricon Singles Chart. The concept for Busaiku was initially suggested by Nakai during a broadcast of "Kiss My Busaiku!" on Fuji Television, highlighting the less prominent members of Kis-My-Ft2. Nakai not only provided music but also choreographed, directed, and planned the music video for their debut. Their release, Yacchatta (2015), continues to showcase their unique blend of humor and music.
