Biography

A punk-pop band from Klang, Mayalsia, Bunkface formed in 2006 and released the debut EP Lesson of the Season one year later. Initially performing songs exclusively in the English language, bandmates Shamsul Anuar, Farouk Jaafar, and Ahmad Farhan embraced a mix of Malaysian and English lyrics on their first full-length album, 2010's Phobia Phoney, and landed a major radio single in their homeland with "Situasi." 2012's Bunk Not Dead and 2014's Malam Ini Kita Punya followed, with Bunkface winning its first award at the annual Anugerah Industri Muzik ceremony â an industry event equivalent to the Grammy Awards â for the critically-acclaimed song "Rentak Laguku." The group then released Bunkface X in 2016, followed in 2019 by POP.
