Biography

Bruno Rigutto, born on August 12, 1945, in Charenton, France, is a pianist, composer, and conductor. He studied at the Paris Conservatory under Samson François and Paul Badura-Skoda. Rigutto's breakthrough came with his victories at the Marguerite-Long International Competition in 1965 and the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1966. He composed the music for Faustine et le bel été by Nina Companéez in 1972. Throughout his career, Rigutto released several notable albums such as Chopin: 19 valses (1987) and Debussy - Franck: Sonates pour Violon et Piano (2004). Rigutto taught piano at the Paris Conservatory from 1983 until 2010.
