Akon had the flair of a great producer when he made Brick & Lace the first signing to his Kon Live label. The duo of sisters Nyanda and Nailah Thorbourne offer dancehall-infused R&B. Their Jamaican origins give the two Brick & Lace sisters a unique vocal quality and rhythmic mastery that contrasts with the lasciviousness of too many R&B productions. " Love Is Wicked", on the album of the same name, was a hit in much of Europe in 2008. France triumphed with a No. 4 hit, while the U.S. inexplicably ignored them.
