Brave Saint Saturn, a Christian rock band from Denver, Colorado, was formed in 1999 by Reese Roper and members of Five Iron Frenzy. Initially known as Astronaut, they released their debut album So Far from Home in 2000. The band's music is characterized by its "astro-rock" style, which uses space as a metaphor for loneliness and isolation. Their first three albums, collectively known as the Saturn 5 Trilogy, tell the story of a fictional NASA mission to map the rings of Saturn. The trilogy includes The Light Of Things Hoped For (2003) and Anti-Meridian (2008).
